Bringing the Worlds Intelectual Property Community to Local Shores in Virtual style. test

Through their annual Summer School that runs over 8 days of workshops and exhibitions, WIPO aims to get professionals in the IP space together.

Against the backdrop of the culturally vibrant city of Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy, the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) through the National Intellectual Property Management Office (NIPMO), the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is hosting an eight (8) day Summer School on Intellectual Property and Transfer of Technology.

To provide the participants with the best possible experience, WIPO, with their partners, sought a reputable events and technology agency’s knowledge and expertise to organise and position the first-ever virtual exhibition and conference over eight days!.

Commissioned to organise and implement the Summer School event virtually, MediaPlatform has surged ahead in providing a world-class platform supported with creative marketing and branding that reflect a diverse set of historical monuments and a wide variety of Durban people.

Our approach and quality of proposal displayed a large amount of knowledge in this specialised area, one that WIPO felt comfortable with. Mediaplatform revealed a hybrid process model to enable presenters and facilitate their presentations online. By leveraging the systems’ toolsets, we can provide a holistic event without compromising the natural face-to-face feeling of being at an event.

The virtual conference rooms, table seating, exhibitor exhibitions, and backstage preparation zone for presenters gave us the competitive edge against other vendors.

The event will take place in May, with many stakeholder engagements already conducted on the platform. The response has been overwhelming to date, and we are poised to impress!
